I was so honored to be apart of Sola & Peter’s wedding which took place at the gorgeous Inn on Officer’s Garden in downtown Calgary. Planned by the incomparable Abbi from Down the Aisle YYC with gorgeous, budget friendly florals by Callia Flowers, every vendor got together to create Sola’s garden themed wedding. Inn on Officers Garden near downtown Calgary was truly the perfect place for this vibrant celebration.
One of my favorite moments of the day was how emotional & joyful everyone was to see both Sola & Peter tie the knot. Peter gave every person a heartfelt hug as they came down the aisle, something I haven’t seen many grooms do! As Sola and her parents walked her down the aisle, Sola was overcome with so much love & joy seeing Peter there waiting for her. Tears streamed down her face as she looked at him with such a glowing smile and with so much love, it was truly such a special moment I’ll never forget.
Another favorite moment of mine is usually the groomsmen shots–there’s something about getting a bunch of best buddies together where cheesy dad jokes & hilarity ensues! A moment that came spontaneously was when the groomsmen saw a wooden swing and wanted to take pictures of Peter getting pushed by them all. It resulted in some hilarious facial expressions from Peter and so much laughter from the groomsmen!
Sola & Peter’s Love Story
Both Sola and Peter met in nursing school in the same class–Sola immediately thought Peter was the cutest (and smartest!) guy in the class and wanted to get to know him better. It wasn’t until nearly a year later that both were set up by a mutual friend, who was their officiant, and the rest was history!
