On the way to Banff National Park, in Kananaskis within the wilds of Bow Valley Provincial Park lies a hidden gem off Highway 1. Middle Lake Trailhead proved to be the best place for Banff engagement photos!
Janelle & Mike wanted to have their engagement photos in Canmore/Banff area, but because of how busy and touristy it can get on the weekends, finding a quiet, intimate place for an engagement session can be tricky if not downright impossible. But I was determined to find a spot that had a) mountains in the background b) wildflowers and c) wasn’t overrun by people. My search led me to some off-beaten paths and right into Middle Lakes and I was so glad I ventured and found the perfect spot!
Not only did it have fields of blossoming crocuses, but it had a serene lake reflecting many majestic mountain ranges including Yates Mountain, Engagement Mountain, Doorjam Mountain, Loder Peak & Yamnuska.
Janelle and Mike looked absolutely amazing and were such naturals in front of the camera! Janelle even brought an adorable white bouquet of flowers as an added thoughtful detail to their session.
I was so thrilled to have found a new favorite spot for engagement photos in Banff and more importantly, to have spent a wonderful evening with one of the sweetest couples ever 🙂
