When I first met Chantel & Phil, I knew I met two kindred spirits! So when Chantel told me that she was designing her wedding at the SAIT based on a painting by Monet, I knew it was going to be nothing short of spectacular! Combining the Chinese ginkgo leaf design elements (a symbol of longevity, resilience, hope and peace) with the soft, pastel watercolors from “Woman with a Parasol” by Claude Monet, Chantel and Phil’s wedding was a gorgeous fusion of Asian and Parisian culture.
The atrium at the SAIT provided a stunning backdrop for this amazing couple’s wedding day, while the Macdonald Hall was the perfect cozy ballroom for their intimate reception with their close friends and family.
Chantel & Phil’s Love Story
After meeting at a mutual friend’s get together, Phil and Chantel immediately hit it off as friends for many years before their friendship blossomed into a romance. Chantel wanted her favorite color, green, to be a feature color on her wedding day, while Phil wore a powder blue suit to pay homage to his own father’s wedding day tux. Phil & Chantel are always laughing together, quoting inside jokes, and enjoying each other’s company. As soon as Chantel and Phil locked eyes while she walked down the aisle on her parents’ arm, there was no stopping the love-filled, joyful tears.
From the heartfelt vows to the first dance as husband and wife, Chantel and Phil were endlessly laughing or happy crying throughout their special day. Truly the best love stories are the ones where the bride & groom are friends first, and Chantel & Phil were the best of friends. 🥰
Congrats you two! It was such an honor photographing your wedding day!
