Whimsical Vintage Garden Party Wedding at Saskatoon Farm

Megan Seitz

I am overjoyed to share Kim & Michael’s whimsical garden party wedding at Saskatoon Farm! Truly it was a magical day and I still can’t believe I was fortunate enough to photograph it! I’ve always dreamed of photographing a wedding at Saskatoon Farm, known for their acres of orchards, and surrounded by delphiniums, peonies and wildflowers, it was the perfect place for Kim & Michael to bring their fairy tale love story to life.

Their Love Story

Kim and Michael met through Tinder and had their first date at the Rec Room in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. From the first time Michael saw Kim waiting in line, he knew he was totally head over heels for this girl. And when he found out Kim loved cats, he immediately made the decision to stock up on allergy medicine! After several years of dating, Michael proposed to Kim at the base of Mount Fuji on a romantic trip to Japan.

Their Wedding Day

With special details, including a wedding invitation suite designed and created by the bride herself, as well as a first look with both mom and dad and the groom, to Michael’s sentimental pendant with his late father’s fingerprint, Kim & Michael’s wedding was definitely not short of thoughtful moments. There were many happy tears and emotional moments throughout the day–both Kim and Michael are such sweet souls, it was a joy to capture every smile and every poignant instant. (Also, fun fact, Kim is probably the most beautiful cryer I’ve ever seen! Seriously, she is literally beautiful no matter what! 😉)

The ceremony was hosted outdoors under a wooden arbor. They opted for two white pillars with lush arrangements on top, and a burlap aisle runner led the couple back up the aisle after exchanging their vows. Green hanging plants added an element of luxe garden style, and these same plants reappeared later during the reception. Kim had always wanted a colorful, pastel wedding with lots of greenery and flowers, natural light, and a bit of a vintage vibe. Kim also wanted to ensure that her florals would last forever, which is why she decided to use Two Whimsical Florists and silk flowers for her bouquets and floral arrangements. It was impossible to tell they weren’t real florals!

Congratulations Kim & Michael!

“Our Photos Were Phenomenal!”

She easily became our good friend as she would make you feel like she's more than just one of your vendors, very organized, not pushy at all, her top priority is what the couple wants and turn that into something very beautiful and most importantly listens to all your needs and requests. Not to mention, our photos came out phenomenal!!! Meg deserves so much more credit because she's a 10/10 photographer but 100/10 as a person.

"So Natural, Dreamy & Timeless"

Meg took photos for us and provided stunning photos and managed to wrangle our massive family with so many wriggly children flawlessly. Very impressive. She has such a fun energy that puts even the most awkward picture takers (my husband) at ease! The photos and the editing are so natural and dreamy and timeless. I would trust Meg with my life and more importantly with my wedding day in a heartbeat and highly recommend that you do too!!
